"Are you iliterate? Write today for free help."

When is the last time you laughed? I mean a good one. So hard that you cried, or worse, had to run to the bathroom! We live in such a serious culture that is focused upon production and effort. Because of this, our results-driven culture lacks joy and levity. As the richest country in the world, the most creative nation on earth, and the envy of mankind, there is no lack of confidence in America.

But, there is one looming cloud over our nation. Depression. You see it everywhere around you. In the office, at school, on the face of your neighbor, and far too often in our own lives. So, I thought I would take a moment and try to bring a little laughter to my readers...

In Ecclesiastes 2:4-12, the writer says that even though we gather riches, pools, gardens, servants, maids, houses, cattle, musicians, silver, gold, and treasures, it is all vanity. He even says that he withheld himself from nothing that he wanted. In the end, the writer says that he hated all of these things created from the works of his hands. Sound like modern day America?

In chapter 2, the only thing that brings the writer true joy is wisdom.

I hope that you were able to smile at these humorous ads and relax a little. My advice this weekend would be to seek wisdom above all of these things. Wisdom will bring you greater joy than the pursuit of things. And wisdom will bring you much more joy than a bunch of silly humorous ads. Read through Ecclesiastes chapter 2 and ask the Lord for wisdom. That will bring you great fulfillment and joy.
